Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach elementary music to students in grade levels Pre-Kinder-5th grade. My students are creative, adventurous and kind. They had a difficult year due to Hurricane Harvey. My students are very resilient. They love learning about music.
"Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything"-Plato
My students enjoy making music together! Everyone works together toward our goal! "Tell me, I forget; Show me, I remember; Involve me, I understand"-Carl Orff
My Project
Learning to play the ukulele can help students in many ways. The ukulele is very versatile. Students will be able to learn many concepts such as pitch, rhythm, harmony and melody. Students will be able to work together to produce music, and students will be able to play and sing solos. Playing the ukulele will inspire students to become self-motivated learners.
Music can help reduce stress and improve self-esteem.
My students are still recovering from the damage caused by Hurricane Harvey. Many of my students are still rebuilding their homes, and some students are still displaced. Learning to play the ukulele will provide them with the opportunity to reduce their stress and increase their self esteem. I need your help to make this dream a reality!
