Our school has a population of 400 students grade K-5. As the music teacher I see all the students in the building. This includes students who have disabilities and come from a variety of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. The diversity at our school helps to make it a great school, the students learn from one another and get along great together.
Our students help to play a part in bringing the families in the community together for a common purpose.
When the students put on this show it will fill up the gym. Performing brings the community into the building.
The students will be performing "A Kids Life" musical at the end of the school year. This is a musical created by John Jacobson and Mac Huff. The musical includes seven original songs, along with dialogue and is flexible for inclusions of many students. It can also be saved and used in future performances.
Performing "A Kids Life" will help students to build skills in self-discipline, collaboration and musicality.
Our students will experience the rehearsal process first-hand and learn what it takes to put on a production. I truly feel this awesome musical can only enrich the students learning experience.
