Mrs. Jenkins from Mount Olive MS is requesting musical instruments through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students a full sized working xylophone percussion instrument that will allow them to learn conventionally and accurately.

The students at my school are inquisitive and always ready to learn. They are excited about all aspects of music class and constantly seek to be involved in both private and public music performances.
Many of my students come to class full of life, ready to dive into a high energy music lesson.
They bring such a positivity towards the music subject that I am encouraged to do more for them, and supplement their learning with more hands on activities.
Their eagerness to do, and not merely observe, truly inspire me to be better for them everyday.
Mallet and keyboard instruments are essential to beginning and intermediate music student's ear training and hand eye coordination. With these instruments being the foundation for instrumental learning, it is non negotiable that acceptable equipment be available to our students. Our current mallet instruments have missing keys and keys that have lost their characteristic tone, causing pitch problems with singing and playing, and note identification confusion. It is very difficult to instruct students one way and then have them end up confused with an instrument that looks and sound different than what it in fact should be.
By donating to our project, students will be able to identify keyboard notes accurately during instruction without missing/broken keys hindering their learning process.
Students will no longer have to imagine what "the real instrument" will look like. They will be able to learn conventionally, while also having the opportunity to produce quality music on adequate equipment.
