My Students

My students are an inspiration to me when it comes to music education. They are excited sponges that just love to absorb knowledge and expand their creative selves. It truly amazing how quick they learn new things.

Fun, excitement and engaged learning are all words that describe my music classroom.

My students are absolutely amazing and they love music. They come to music once a week and they just want to play all the instruments and participate. My music classes are full of singing, movement, and instrument playing.

My Project

In my music classroom we have a complete set of Orff instruments, consisting of Soprano, Alto, and Bass Xylophones, Soprano, Alto and Bass Metallophones, and a set of Contra Bass Bars. These instruments are used with all the students from kindergarten to 5th grade. The kindergarten students play things like a simple music direction scale patterns that go along with a book, while the 5th grade may play variations on rock songs like "Crazy Train" or "Sweet Child of Mine." These instruments are awesome because they sound great, the kids love them, and they are amazing resource for teaching music. Unfortunately, our mallets are getting worn out and need replaced. This is why I am asking for 16 sets of mallets for our Orff instrumentation.
