I teach second grade at a K-12 school. We are currently in portable buildings because of the devastation of Hurricane Rita. We have no music teacher and little opportunity to make music. I would love to have musical instruments and CDs to teach my students the basics of rhythm. Students could also learn to appreciate the different styles of music to which they would be exposed. The students love to sing along with our weekly reading lesson and always ask if they can sing their song for any visitors that we have. Musical instruments and music CDs would open up a whole new world for my students. We could learn very simple songs and perform for the other students at school. Thank you for your consideration of the funding of this project.
