My students need materials for a listening center in the music room. After all, listening to music is fundamentally HOW we learn about it to begin with!

My Students

My students are eager and ready to learn when they walk in my music room! Our school has been open for 20+ years and has a rich tradition of kindness and support from student to teacher and from teacher to teacher! It's an amazing place to work and to learn. The neighborhood of my school is a community that works together to bring great things to this area.

My students are from various cultural backgrounds and our school community is made up of many students from other countries.

My Project

K-5 students in the music room experience a lot of different activities, including working in stations or centers. This year, we've added a lot of new activities that include LISTENING. Listening to music is one of the main ways that people experience music for the first time, whether it be on a TV show, in a movie, on the radio, etc. I like to challenge my students to listen to new things, new styles, genres, and music from the past.

These materials will help us to start a listening station where students can listen to music without worrying about the other centers working around them.

It also creates an environment free of distraction where students can learn.
