My Students

At our site we work with a diverse community of students. The students that we work with are from at-risk living situations and placed with us until they can be put back into a situation that will benefit their growth as an individual. At our school we look at the whole child, see the good in everyone and know that we all have areas that we can improve on. We love our students, their amazing imaginations, the goals that they are setting and love seeing how they grow during their time with us.

In our classroom we try to utilize the arts and social skills in all of our classes and within all of our curriculum.

My Project

Our students would like to learn some therapeutic coping skills through hands on music projects and with instruments that are highly portable between our one room school house and the group home where they are living currently.

The students at our school are provided crisis, shelter, and respite at a crucial time in their lives.

Youth are involved in individual and group therapy. Shelter Care has a two level system to improve social, emotional, and behavioral outcomes.

Through our school house and through Shelter Care a lasting difference is made in young people’s lives in times of crisis or transition.

Through our school program we hope to continue to teach the students how to cope, learn, organize and be ready for the next stages in their lives.
