Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our Middle School is a Title I school where the students come from very low economic backgrounds with all of our students receiving free lunch. Nonetheless, my school strives to provide my students with every possible opportunity no matter the socio-economic environment, exist in their lives. The students here do not have the resources for music instruction outside of the school.

In my classroom, I strive to provide every vehicle possible to enhance my students' musical abilities and passion for learning.

Just because my students are facing hard times at home doesn't mean they shouldn't be afforded the very best and giving the opportunity to participate in many and every facet of music. They work very hard in every area of music I offer to become excellent musicians. Through your generous giving, the items received will enhance their lives for the better. They will continue to grow a love of music education while feeling fortunate at an early age.

My Project

The students at our Middle School are very eager, creative and excited about learning more about music. Our mission is to provide our students with a solid foundation in music education while bridging the gap with core subjects. This will give our students a solid foundation to be successful in all areas of life.

The Samsung Chromebook will allow my students to access various music apps, learn vocabulary and symbols, reading and playing music, and create their compositions.

Music is a passion of mine and I want to inspire and my students and get them to see the benefits of music in their lives. Providing this type of differentiated learning will be invaluable to the students.
