Since I am the music teacher, I am having to create lessons for the entire school. My students are split between paper assignments and technology assignments due to unavailability of technology in the low socioeconomic area I teach in. The students that I am able to reach online have replied with valuable answers and enjoy the lessons I am able to create for them.
I currently have my phone that I am using for recording my lessons, but I am having difficulty holding it up, propping it up, keeping it standing while I am attempting singing, movement, and dance activity videos.
These materials will help me produce quality video with appropriate lighting. I have gotten comments from students saying that they are unable to see a part of my video due to lighting or the way the phone has been propped up. I have also had issues with them hearing what I am saying or singing. I want my students to have all the opportunities for brain breaks with my music activities, but if they are not able to hear the content, I can not reach them.
I will be continuing my flipped classroom after we return to school for the upcoming year as well, and will be able to use to these materials for as long as technologically possible, inside and outside the classroom.
I plan to develop an online music presence that will continue on my campus to extend learning and connection throughout my students musical career.
