Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are some of the best students you could ask for. They are all members of the middle school band/orchestra program and LOVE what they do. Most of them qualify for free and reduced-price lunches.

They work really hard and produce superior results.

This past school year was the first year the concert band (in school history) received a "Superior" rating at the county concert band assessment! The students are high achievers and I couldn't ask for anything else.

Most of these students have been playing music since elementary school and really enjoy their musical experiences.

My Project

The music stands are long overdue. We have several music stands that simply do not work anymore. They are old and falling apart. This year alone the band & orchestra program has grown in size tremendously. Some sections have three students to a stand. We must be able to make this happen.

Having enough music stands will allow the students to see their own music and use the best posture possible for the best possible sound.

These twelve stands will be a tremendous asset to our program. The conductors podium will allow me to put all of my music on the podium without it falling over on a normal size music stand. We hope that you will be able to support our cause as we try to reach our goal.
