Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I will be starting my fourth year teaching at this tremendous school. When I started, the school was transitioning from a traditional middle school to an arts academy. I teach instrumental music. Currently I teach four bands and two orchestras. We are a public school that is 4th through 8th grade. Students are focused and driven to excel in the arts as well as academics. Students begin their journey at an early age and develop their passion for the arts as they progress through the program.
My Project
Students need stand lights in order to see their music during evening performances or performances that are located in the school auditorium. We have had to perform in the past with a portion of the house lights on in order for students to be able to see their music. This takes away from the ambiance of the venue and eliminates the effectiveness of the new lighting system that was recently installed. The nice thing about these stand lights is that they are able to run on LED which eliminates the need for every light to have to be plugged into an outlet.
