My students need a rug to participate in Music Specials and play music games.

I am a General Music Educator in Maryland. My students are excited about learning Music. They are a talented group of students. Some of their favorite lessons incorporate rhythm, sight singing, recorders, musical games, and school-wide performances.
I teach at a school with a population of 540 students where 66.7% of the student population identify as African-American, making up the largest segment of the student body.
52.2% of students receive free lunch. Our students could really benefit from some extra resources to help them excel in music.
The classroom environment plays an important role in supporting a safe community for learning. Students use visuals to guide them in learning and create more positive perspectives in approaching learning tasks. Students should be able to find comfort and have access to the materials that are need to help support their young minds to become the best leaders. I believe that you can help us to meet our supply needs for our school to make this dream a reality. Any donations to our project would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
A new rug for our classroom will make a major difference by creating smooth transitions in our classroom procedures. Students will be able to sit in organized color coded squares to help keep track of their progress as well as be categorized by teams to enjoy fun music games. Students get a chance to bond with peers and feel a sense of community by engaging in collaborative learning activities. Students will also be able to play recorders on the rug and view the Promethean board before they break off into small groups and sit at the tables. I find that many students enjoy having color coded teams. Thank you in advance for all donations that will help us to fund our project.
