Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a new teacher, so I do not know who my students will be this year. Typically they’re a mix of English Language Learners. They have come from Iow-income too upper middle class families and everywhere in between. As a substitute teacher I have had the opportunity to know what to expect in a Kindergarten class. I know that they will be excited to start school and begin their new adventure. I am also excited to start this school year. I know I will have a class full of creativity, energy and learning. I also know that my students will need many different supplies to ensure they have a productive year.
My Project
These musical instruments will help our class develop our listening skills, timing, and pattern recognition, our confidence and feeling of belonging. Through music students will explore time and space in a fun environment .
The Rhythm Set and Heavy Duty Drum will allow us to explore music and movement in a warm and fun environment where all students can succeed.
Learning about music will help us in all academic areas.The drums will allow us to work on music and dance while having lots of fun.Students will benefit socially and academically. Students will use their instruments to score images , characters and stories.
