This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are all located in a low-income area of the county. We have a total of 250 students, and they each receive music weekly. Providing these students with quality sound equipment will allow us to be able to put on performances and amplify our music for school-wide events throughout the year without having to ask churches and other organizations around town if we can borrow theirs. We are striving to be self-sufficient. I am a first-year music teacher and I am seeking some assistance in getting long-lasting and moveable sound equipment for our elementary school. I (and the students) so appreciate your help!
My Project
These materials will allow our students to be heard at our school performances and performances around the community. We would love to be able to take small ensembles out into the town to perform at community events and gatherings. These materials will assist with school-wide dances, musicals, talent shows, and fundraising events. At this time we are having to rely on local churches and organizations to let us borrow PA sound equipment for all of our school events. These materials would allow us to be self-sufficient, and allow us to do more spur-of-the-moment activities for the students, staff, and families.
