This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our music program is a vibrant and growing music program that is making a difference in the lives of students. After the devastation of Hurricane Harvey, it has taken a few years to get back on track. The loss of the band hall was devastating for all music students.

However, we are excited to finally move into our new facility with separate spaces for elementary and secondary students.

Our students have weathered hurricanes, tornadoes, and most recently the pandemic, and although they are resilient and brave, they are also more than ready to return to music and playing and learning.

My Project

We are excited to have moved into a new music facility, and the elementary students are thrilled to finally have their own music learning space!

Now we need to make the elementary music room their own with some creature comforts just for them.

The music carpet will keep them from sitting on the cold floor while also providing a learning center in the middle of the room, and the stools will give them a fun place to sit at the right height to use our bass xylophones or other larger instruments.
