My students are excited to learn, creative, and ready for new experiences! They love to try new things, and they love when learning is relevant and engaging for them.
They connect with music in so many different ways- with their minds, voices, hands, feet, and hearts.
Students get excited when they walk in the classroom and see something new, or when they tell me what instruments they have played before! I can't wait to bring them new opportunities to learn and create.
My Project
Students will benefit from more hands-on musical interaction, increased voice and choice, and more cross-curricular connections. My students will be able to create rhythms, make literacy connections through storytelling with instruments, and explore unique sounds with these instruments. They will be able to participate more consistently throughout the lesson with more instruments available in the classroom, as we turn picture books into songs, and retell stories with instruments.
With more instrumental resources in the room, I can give students options and let them be a stakeholder in the learning process!
More instruments allow more kids to fully participate and own their learning. Several of the instruments I am requesting also offer students a rich sensory experience.
