My Students
I teach 4K-8 general music in a small rural school that houses birth-12th grade. The community of the school is wonderful, teachers work together and provide a safe, happy atmosphere for the kids. The poverty rate in this area is very high. They come to music enthusiastic and ready to learn. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday I see every student in grades k-5!
Students love music and have a natural instinct to sing and dance.
I have been developing and using music learning stations to encourage student learning and collaboration. We work together, in small groups and individually in spaces throughout the classroom.
My Project
I am working very hard to include musical learning stations into my lessons and curriculum planning. I want them to be able to listen to music and discuss their thoughts and feelings.
The ability for students to work and learn from each other is imperative in their musical development.
This Bluetooth player and headphones will help in this learning station not being a distraction to other students in other stations around the room. Each student and group will be able to concentrate on their own work, and everyone will be able to get a chance at the new listening center!
