My students need ukuleles and music for a new elective class option at Liberty Middle School.
My students strive to be the best no matter what they are participating in. They often come to practice before and after school even when they don't have to in order to perfect their craft. They are constantly looking for opportunities to better themselves.
Because they are in a new school with a very small budget, they have done the best they can with whatever we have, or don't have.
They make the best of every situation and roll with the punches.
Many times at the middle level, students who are not enrolled in band or choir either get pushed into one of those classes or have to take an un-engaging music class that furthers their opinion of the arts. Students at Liberty will have an opportunity to take a music electives class, and by having Ukuleles they will have exposure to learning to read and play music that is easy and enjoyable.
By having access to music for the Ukulele that is current and well known, students will hopefully find a connection to music even when they don't feel it's something they are good at.
