My Students

My students are in a residential treatment facility. Many of my students are in this school because they are court ordered to be here. Some are there instead of going to a juvenile detention center. Some are sent there to complete the program. Others are attending the school to meet certain education requirements.

It is my desire to help my students experience the excitement of learning how to read, write, and arrange music through the use of technology.

I want them to be able to take with them skills and abilities that they can use and enjoy once they leave this program.

My Project

Some of the students have a little exposure to music. Others of them are writing their own songs but have the knowledge create their own music. One of the programs that comes with iPads is garage band. Many of my students like hip-hop or rap and garage band has tools that will help them write and arrange the songs that they have already written.

These iPads will help teach my students the knowledge and skills will they need to make their songs become a reality and provide them an opportunity to develop and expand their abilities into something they can use for their own personal enjoyment or to further a career in music.
