General music classroom for special learners in need of instruments. Our music program consists of several small self contained classroom for students with special needs. All of our kids are around the kindergarten age level.
Our school mainly focuses on students with autism and down syndrome. Many of our students are non-verbal and have other obstacles in their learning. We also have a short supply of musical instruments for our students to use.
We are in need of classroom percussion instruments. By using instruments, this will give our students other opportunities to learn musical concepts. As many of our students are non-verbal, singing songs just does not cut it for them. Having them use instruments will help them become a part of the world of music. This will hopefully help the students learn by hands-on approach as well as encourage them to become more engaged in the music classroom.
