Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our class loves coming to school every day! Our classroom is full of 3-4 year old children from low income families. We serve our children healthy meals and provide them with as many experiences as we can while they are with us.
We are working to close the achievement gap one preschooler at a time!
Throughout the year we dive into 6 in-depth studies where we explore through math, science, language, and literacy. My students love jumping into new activities and experiments!
My Project
Music is a huge part of the learning process. For many children it helps them focus, relax, connect with concepts or express themselves. Currently our classroom has a broken CD player with old, scratched CD's that barely work. Along with mismatched musical instruments and some that have broken and we have tried over and over again to repair them.
This project with give us new instruments and CD's along with the ability to utilize them throughout our day.
The students will be able to once again use the music center to it's full potential. Right now, the music center is not a favorite center and we hope by providing new and interesting materials everyone will want to go there!
