Help me give my students the gift of rhythm with Festival drums! Rhythm is a strong part of my early music education curriculum. Donate so that each student may have their own to play!

My Project

My younger students absolutely LOVE these drums. Currently, we only have 9 in classes of 20 or more students, and those who do not get to play these festival drums in a period are so upset! Not only does percussion help our scholars with the basic idea of steady beat and rhythm, they have fun and are engaged the entire time! As they become more comfortable with rhythmic vocabulary, I would love to have them showcase these new and valuable musical skills in concert. This is something afforded mainly to the older students, considering they have access to recorders and band instruments. In addition, they can use these instruments to conceptualize and realize rhythmic compositions, both individually and collaboratively.

Opportunities to compose music will do wonders for their creative thinking, sense of autonomy, and sense of pride in their creations, inside AND outside of the music classroom.
