Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school was established in 1928 and has been serving a small community for many generations. It is my 22nd year teaching, and I had an awesome experience of teaching my former student's daughter in my class a couple of years ago. My current aide is also my former Kindergarten student.
My school is a Title I school, where a lot of my students qualify for the reduced price or free lunch program.
Many students come from diverse cultural backgrounds. There are 16 different languages spoken at my school. Most are English language learners, speaking English as their second language.
It's exciting to teach students who are able to do so much on their own; collaborating, researching and working independently to be innovators!
My Project
I like to put together a theatrical play at the end of the year. Every student gets to sing and play a role. I’m having trouble playing the songs onto my speakers because the Bluetooth function of my speakers are not working on both of my speakers I have. My personal cell phone doesn’t have the audio jack anymore and I can’t plug it into anything. I had an older iPod and gave it to my colleague who needed the songs on the iPod when I left Kindergarten.
I wish to have an iPod for my classroom again, so I can import the songs and plug it into my speakers without having to rely on Bluetooth.
Please consider donating to this project! It won’t be possible without wonderful donors like you!
