My Students

My students are very creative and take any opportunity to learn something new with regards to music, golf, and technology. I often have students asking about specific skills for music, golf, and technology and a tremendous willingness to learn more.

The right tools in the hands of students can allow for the creation of some fantastic things.

Our district is in Northern Maine and many of our students come from low-income homes where these tools cannot be easily provided. My goal is to provide students with every opportunity when it comes to music, sports, and technology.

My Project

We have a new class that we began offering this year that teaches digital music. I would like to integrate learning on how to create electronic music into the course and a digital workstation is a major tool in creating the music. Many movie composers use keyboard workstations to create entire movie soundtracks and I am looking to add this tool into our curriculum. I am constantly looking for different ways to involve kids in music. Not all students are into taking part in a performing group so this class is one of the alternatives we offer.

Music composition allows students to be creative and learn music in a more private environment.

A keyboard workstation is essential in creating the music and inputting it into the digital audio workstation.
