I am the music teacher at a Title 1 school. My students range from kindergarten all the way through sixth grade.
These students are resilient.
Despite the many challenges they face, they come to my class with energy and excitement... and they love to play instruments.
When students come into my classroom, they do more than "just music". Through music, they are demonstrating creativity, leadership, teamwork, confidence, and much more. There is so much potential at the school, and these students are going places!
Students learn best through experience. In music class, that means we are always experiencing music through games, movement, singing, and instruments. My students especially enjoy learning on instruments.
We are doing the best with what we have, but there are simply not enough instruments for an entire class!
Without enough instruments, students spend more class time waiting for an instrument than actually playing one.
The soprano metallophone's sound projects well in a classroom setting and would pair perfectly with the alto metallophone already in the room. Getting this soprano metallophone would buy students more individual time on an instrument. With more time on the instruments, students can spend more time creating, performing, and experiencing music.
