Music Chairs for Band Students

My Students

I love music and I love kids!!! I get up every morning and can’t wait to get to work. At our school we have the best students, parents, staff, and community. The students are very respectful and give 100% in all areas. My school, Franklin East, is a choice school, part of Mesa Public Schools. My band program is ability based and has a lot of options and potential.

Many of my students are from low income families or single parent families.

They are so excited to learn about music and when they reach 4th grade, they are very excited about the opportunity to join band. I am asking for donations to help provide appropriate chairs for the band students. The ones we have now are old cafeteria chairs. My students deserve the best.

My Project

The appropriate chairs will make a huge difference. Presently, we have old cafeteria chairs, which most smaller students cannot even touch the floor, therefore they don't have a good posture and struggle with producing a good band sound. Many of the other schools have these chairs that are designed to help student musicians sit correctly and have a correct posture. We start band in the 4th grade and many of my students are younger and smaller. The old chairs rock and are not stable or secure. I believe in my students and want to provide the best for them.
