Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a music teacher, I'm privileged to be teaching music to the hardest working kids on a daily basis. When given challenges and high expectations, my students have risen up to the task and achieved their goals.
I teach at a Title I school in Nevada where a high percentage of students come from bilingual homes and receive free lunch.
Although many students face difficult situations in their lives, they are willing to work above and beyond to achieve their musical dreams.
We have some very talented students who are going to some of the top schools in the state and take their talents to the next level.
My Project
My students are in need of good, quality mouthpieces that will help them have better success in band class. Many times, it is not the instruments but the mouthpieces that create issues in performance. With good quality mouthpieces, my students can improve their playing.
With these valuable music accessories, my students can thrive in the classroom and have a clean experience, especially in these times.
Apart from the numerous mouthpieces for woodwinds/brass, students will receive sterisol to properly clean their mouthpieces, reducing the chances of getting sick. Bari saxophone harnesses will also be bought to ensure the well-being of our students.
