My students need multiplication wrap-ups to master multiplication facts in a fun and exciting manner.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Our future math success depends on our ability to become fluent with our multiplication facts. We would love to put a wrap on our multiplication facts with these independent, self checking multiplication wraps.
As a fifth grade math teacher, all my students should be fluent in and have mastered their multiplication facts by the fifth grade.
However, being employed at a Title 1 school, this goal still has not been accomplished by most students. In addition, these are the same students who struggle with more complex math skills.
We all know if multiplication facts are not mastered by fifth grade students will struggle with concepts following. So, I'm requesting a set of multiplication wrap ups. These wrap ups will allow students to practice independently, in a fun and unique way, while allowing them to self check. The self check component gives them an opportunity to set goals and be responsible for this aspect of their learning. With these wrap-ups, my students will finally be able to put a wrap on those multiplication facts.
My personal goal for my students, reach far beyond this current school year.
It will allow students an opportunity to access math skills with the same basic knowledge of multiplication facts as their peers. My students will have a better chance at succeeding at math with this basic skill. Without multiplication fluency students will not be successful with algebra beginning in middle school.
