I am a teacher of a classroom of students with different abilities. I have seven students who are diagnosed with Autism. They are all clever, happy students and love learning about the world around them. I have students interested in technology, history, and math. They love learning and I am running out of ideas on how to make learning fun with a bunch of worksheets. I want a fun break-like learning activity.
It is very important to me that my students are included in their community at our school.
I have really focused on including my students into all of the other activities general education students participate in and academics is definitely one of them. The goal is to get all of my students into general education classrooms by the end of 2018 and if they recognize the curriculum, mainstreaming will be easier!
This project will be helping my middle schoolers get access to the curriculum while using their favorite object in the classroom, the computers. I am very happy with my new school site this year and their patience and persistence. I hope we are able to continue to explore our curriculum together!
My Project
This program has been a program I have used the last 3-4 years. Students who need slower lessons, bigger font, and visuals to keep them entertained improve greatly with this program. BrainPop and BrainPopJr focus on multiple levels academically, so every student in my classroom can get access to the curriculum.
BrainPop is a learning program that gives every student the opportunity to learn and grow in the classroom.
These programs can be used almost every day as a way to learn, play, and assess students on specific subjects. BrainPop and BrainPopJr. have lessons for every school subject and community based practices. The program teaches students about communities and people and then we take them out their to experience it themselves! Help us get a fun program to make learning fun!
