My students need flexible seating options to use while enjoying our brand new Multiple Intelligence Museum! We are requesting colorful plastic stools and floor pads, as well as a butterfly seating arrangement!
We have 450 young learners in our K-5 elementary school who will benefit from this project. They come to us from our neighborhood population, as well as throughout the community of Sioux Falls through the open enrollment process.
Our diverse group of students share their unique strengths with us daily, and we emphasize that people can be smart in several different ways.
Focusing on the work of researcher Howard Gardner, our students have the opportunity to share their knowledge through the different "smarts:" word, math (or logic), people, self, art (or picture), music, body, and nature.
We are proud of our students and their dedication to learning through the arts!
My Project
At our school, our A+ staff works hard to integrate the arts into our core instruction. We have dedicated teachers who truly have a passion for both education and the arts.
After visiting an A+ school in North Carolina, our teachers were inspired to create our very own Multiple Intelligence Museum, which will provide our students with the opportunity to showcase their work and celebrate their success!
We created this space in our school earlier this year, and thanks to a grant from the South Dakota Arts Council and a generous donation from an individual donor, we have been able to paint this area of our school, mount several frames and magnetic boards, and even purchase two screens that show videos and pictures of our incredible students!
We want to provide various seating options for our museum, including stools and floor seats. Students will use these seating options when they visit the museum with their teachers. We have selected items in numerous price ranges, and we greatly appreciate any support you can provide us to complete this amazing project!
