Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 2 English Language Arts classes and 2 Social Studies classes with 26 students in each class. My classes are made up of a diverse bunch of students with different learning abilities. They are very hard workers and are passionate about learning new things.
They get motivated by hands on activities and having the opportunity to work in small groups.
I love how inquisitive they are about everything we read about. The majority of my students enjoy researching topics studied in class.
My Project
These materials will help students be able to make projects that involve multiculturalism. In my lessons I like to tie in different cultures because our school is very diverse. Over the years, parents want to see more culture an diversity in lessons. With these materials they can fulfill their learning experiences.
Hands on learning activities help students' retention of the lessons being taught.
Students take these learning experiences and remember them for years. Moreover, they always share with their families what they learned about other cultures and backgrounds.
Additionally, I am trying to build my Spanish library for our English language learners.
