As a teacher at a magnet school, my kindergarten students come from very diverse backgrounds. I have students in my class that come from different socioeconomic, racial, and religious backgrounds. Half of my class comes from urban cities while the other half is from suburban and rural towns. These students work together and learn from each other.
Even though my students come from diverse backgrounds, my young learners come to school eager to learn.
My goal, as their teacher, is to help them learn and grow as much as possible and to prepare them for the 21st-century by teaching them the skills they will need to be successful learners throughout their lives.
My Project
In kindergarten, arts and crafts are developmentally appropriate since it also helps my students develop their fine motor skills while expressing their creativity. My kindergarten students do a lot of projects that are related to their new learning. The construction paper, crayons, and markers will help my students complete these projects.
The multicultural paper and multicultural crayons will allow my students the ability to represent themselves in their work and creations.
My students will also be able to represent other important people we are learning about in our curriculum.
We have already used a lot of these items this year, and our supply is almost depleted. This donors choose project will help give my students the supplies they need to get them through the rest of the school year to create our future projects.
