My Students
My third grade students are incredibly sweet individuals, who are all truly motivated to learn and explore the world around them. I currently have 24 students, and the majority of these children are emergent bilinguals developing English as a second language.
I want to provide them with the best classroom resources available. They work so hard every single day, and a comfortable environment is critical for learning. With a brand new "modernized" classroom next year, there are some resources we desperately need to update our room!
My Project
I would love to provide my third grade students with an updated library full on multicultural nonfiction text. My students love reading about historical figures and events, and we often have conversations about diversity and equity. It would mean the world to my students to have more library books to explore.
I want to foster a love for nonfiction reading, and your generous donation will help this become possible. I have selected some of my students favorite series books to add to our library, as well as some read aloud material for the class to discuss. My students have also explicitly asked for a fish tank to generate a calm atmosphere while reading, and Legos to expand on our "calm down" zen zone. These would be wonderful additions to our classrooms along with the multicultural nonfiction texts!
