Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a wonderfully diverse bunch of kids. They are high energy and love to learn. Every day they come to school with positive attitudes and an enthusiasm that takes my breath away.
My students love to read and learn about the world around them.
Whenever they have a spare moment, students can be found in my library, looking through the books I have or asking to read books on their iPads. We recently completed a unit on animals, where they read a variety of animal books and wrote about what they learned. They were so enthusiastic and excited about reading as many books as they could and learning more about their animals. I want to bring many more opportunities for them to read and learn about the world around them.
My Project
We live in a very diverse and multicultural world. Although my students love to read, they do not have easy access to books that broaden their horizons and teach them about other cultures and countries.
I want to build a multicultural library so my students can learn about people outside their own cultural.
This is so important because our world is filled with so many diverse people. I want them to read about people who have different color skin their their own, who live in different countries, who go to school in different ways, and have different experiences than they do.
By funding this project, you are helping my students expand their horizon and learn about people around the world.
