This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are a wonderful group of learners that vary in their abilities. I teach preschool varying exceptionalities. Many of these students have developmental delays. They are with me to better prepare them for an inclusive Kindergarten setting when they leave my classroom. Often these students have communication needs due to their disability and/or delays in the vocabulary development. Every single child is given the opportunity to better develop their individual gifts with my focus to meeting the whole child daily.

My Project

My children require adapted materials to accommodate their individual needs. Some of these necessary resources are individual communication books and visuals are created and used daily. These help the children in the school, therapy, and home settings. By having these visual reminders the children are promoted to use their Independent functioning skills to promote self help. All of the materials created are made with a personalized focus on each child's needs. The printer ink, laminate, and Velcro are necessary. Without these materials many students aren't given the opportunity to reach their best. Often I provide these materials out of pocket, so that no child does without.
