I have 25 students in my AM reading/writing class. 12 of these students have special needs and need a lot of differentiated instruction. I have 18 students in my PM reading/writing class. 14 of these students are reading and writing on a 4th grade level. I am teaching a wide range of students. We all strive every day to fill the gaps and to push each other forward. My classroom is a welcoming atmosphere to make mistakes and grow together.
My Project
If my project is fully funded, I plan on introducing my 3rd graders to flexible seating. I will use the wiggle seats at my back table for children to sit on during strategy groups and conferencing. I will use the rubber bands on different chairs for ADHD students to get some of their energy out. Also, I will use the storage bins to keep all of my students classwork organized. Having 40+ students, there is a lot of papers! I am hoping these will help me get a handle on the overwhelming amount of papers I have spread around my room.
