I am a first year teacher, so I actually haven’t met my students yet, but I am very excited to! I want to create a classroom that is welcoming, creative, and safe for my students to learn and grow in.
I can’t wait to meet my students and help them have the best 6th grade year ever!
During the next school year, I want to focus on giving my students sufficient supplies, real-world and project based learning projects, and a growing library.
My Project
I want my classroom library to be the center-point of my classroom, because I believe that reading and literacy is the center-point of my students' education. In my library, I want my students to be able to take journeys and go on epic adventures with their favorite book characters. I want my students to love and be empowered by stories, and have that passion fuel their futures. I want my students to be safe and comfortable in the library, and know that they can find whatever book that entices them to read.
To fulfill this, I need amazing and inspiring books to fill my shelves, and I need your help to make this dream a reality.
With this donation, you'll be helping students become learners, growers, and readers. With this project, I hope to have my students' reading levels go up, offer more choice in the classroom, and have my students increase their interest in reading. This project will hopefully increase their test scores as well, because by reading more, they will be able to understand their ELA standards better.
