My students need classroom resources that will allow them to explore and strength skills. The teacher easel is a great resource as it allows me as the educator to model a variety of skills. Having the flexible seating spots will help to encourage reading as they will love using the spots.

My Students

First graders are curious and spunky! They have left kindergarten more mature and prepared to be a learner. However, they are really just starting to explore reading in first grade and are given many opportunities daily to practice the skills they are taught. Allowing my students to use the Flex space cushions will strengthen their reading stamina and will aid them in developing stronger reading skills. I love to allow my students fun choices to use each and every day.

My Project

My project allows my students to really explore independent reading around the classroom by utilizing the Flex space cushions. We read daily as part of our daily 5 reading and work centers. The students are able to read silently around the classroom, sometimes choosing to sit on the carpet. Having the flex spots will help to encourage reading as they will love using the spots.

I am also be able to model skills for nearly every subject with a teacher easel.

Having a student friendly easel will allow the students to engage in lessons by writing on the easel as well.
