My students are a group of enthusiastic learners! They love doing hands on activities and participating in experienced based learning activities. They are also big fans of technology!
It is always my goal to connect the science we do in my classroom with my students diverse personal stories.
My hope is that this will help them see the role of science in their lives and become critical thinkers! Making deep connections to the world and my students' lives is of the upmost importance to me.
My Project
My students currently have somewhat sporadic access to technology, and I would love to loop more student choice and twenty first century skills into my teaching. I have experience teaching in a blended learning model, and I think I can effectively integrate technology in my current environment.
Having a few Chromebooks in my classroom will increase my ability to provide for all of my students: my students who might need extra help can do support activities and my advanced students can participate in extension activities.
This is important, because it will help me meet the needs of more of my students at once.
In addition to support and extension activities. Having computers in my classroom can help me integrate more student choice into my teaching. This is really important to me, because I think when we allow students to have a say in what they are learning it increases their engagement and overall success.
