My students need a healthy number of books at their individual reading level, through a mobile classroom library. Most of these students are learning English as a second language and are very behind in their reading.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are an amazing bundle of 26, with 98 percent of them, English language learners. 75 percent are currently below grade level in reading. Limited reading resources at home and in the classroom is hindering the progress of my low readers.
Each and every one of them is a joyful, eager and loving first grader.
Each and every one of them is motivated to reach their individual reading goals. Therefore, I want to grant them this gift that they go greatly deserve!
My Project
Having this classroom library greatly increases the chances that all my students can meet their end of the year reading goals! This will give them endless opportunities to read one-on-one, in small groups, and individually through a multi-level library of resources.
Students will be able to build on their fluency and comprehension skills, as they will be exposed to a diversity of leveled literature.
Most importantly, it has the potential to motivate young learners to gain and appreciate a love of reading! Your generous donation will make all the difference in the potential that each of these students can achieve recognizable success.
