Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a speech-language pathologist working with primarily bilingual English/Amharic and English/Spanish students. My students have a variety of speech and language needs ranging from articulation to global language delays.
My students are always happy to work and are a lot of fun!
I love seeing students throughout such a long span of time from Pre-K 3 through fifth grade and watching them grow.
My Project
I am requesting toys which students will use to practice describing and vocabulary and to expand the children's languages.
I am requesting an iPad and keyboard which students will use to access a variety of digital materials such as specialized articulation activities, speech and language apps, boom cards and digital books.
This will greatly increase the materials that my students can access during speech and language sessions. The sensory tools and specialized seating will be used to help my students with sensory regulation so that they are the right space to learn and make progress.
