This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My Jacksonville scholars are part of a community that is willing to help them be the best versions of themselves they can be. They are driven, smart and capable of each changing the world in many positive ways.
Due to being a low-income focused school, having supplies will be helpful to guarantee that they are not limited in their learning.
With these opportunities given to them my students will be able to be successful this school year. We are ready to take this school year on and make it the best one yet!
My Project
As a first year teacher these items that I have selected will enhance my classroom for my students. It will help in creating an environment that is welcoming, fun and a great place to learn academically as well as socially. This project will be the stepping stone in what I hope to achieve as an educator and given me the materials to start my journey. The carpet will be a place for my students to gather for our morning/ afternoon meetings where we discuss our learnings and come together as a "family". The math manipulates such as the fraction bars will be able to visually provide examples for students about how fractions make up a whole. Flexible seating will provide options for students to move around the classroom to best fit their individual learning.
