My students need an Ipad to use for reading and math.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students come to Kindergarten not having the foundational skills they need to be successful in a "typical" classroom. My challenge is meeting them where they are and then getting them to where I know they can go.
Napier is an amazing school.
We are a neighborhood school serving one of the largest housing projects in the city. We are 98% free and reduced lunch. Despite all of our challenges and obstacles, the staff and students at Napier strive to not let these things hold us back. We believe that every child, no matter their circumstances, can be successful in school and in life.
An Ipad would serve several purposes in my classroom. Its main uses would be for small group reading/math instruction as well as for an independent learning center. My students love technology and it serves as a great resource and motivator in my classroom. An Ipad would get my students excited about learning and would provide a new way to for them to practice important reading and math skills.
An Ipad would open up a whole new world of learning experiences for my students.
My major challenge as a teacher is getting my kids where they should be before first grade. When students come to you already at a disadvantage their first year of school, you need every tool and strategy possible to help them. An Ipad gives me a new, different and exciting way to help my kids get caught up and be successful.
