Help me give my students prizes in order to reach their mathematical goals! By providing students with these prizes, they will be more motivated to complete their lessons on the computer program!
As a teacher in a low-income school district, my 6th grade students are faced with many challenges in and outside of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face in their lives, the students always enter my classroom eager to learn.
On a daily basis, I try to create and execute meaningful, creative, fun and differentiated student-based activities in my classroom.
Recently, we have been short-handed on some materials that are required to enhance my students learning on a daily basis. I am teaching math intervention this year and my students are the ones that reluctantly complete math. In order to help them succeed within my classroom, I would like to provide these students with rewards and comfortable seating so that they can achieve. My classroom is always in need of basic materials because we use them on a daily basis.
Due to huge budget cuts and the current state of public education in the US, Middletown does not have the funds to purchase the supplies and to keep them in stock for my students learning.
My Project
In the upcoming school year, I am going to be teaching math intervention. My students will have their normal mathematics class for 80 minutes and then come to my math class for an extra 40 minutes. Students will be able to continue to work on their math skills with more one-on-one attention in my class.
My students will be able to earn various rewards based on their progress with the Math 180 program while reaching mathematical goals!
This incentive will help students remain engaged while working on the fundamentals of mathematics. Students will be able to choose their own rewards once they reach goals.
Students will have to set goals and will keep track of their own progress. This will help students gain responsibility for their learning while continuously checking in on their growth. This will also help my students create a positive growth mindset.
