I have been lucky enough to be with my class for three years. They are the kindest group of kids I have ever meet. They support each other like family and always want what is best for each other. They are artistic, creative, hardworking, and imaginative.
These students reflect the best of what the future has to offer.
They are problem solvers with optimism. They care about the earth and use their actions to prove it. I am so lucky to be their teacher.
My Project
Our class likes to connect our academics to art by expressing ourselves using watercolor and other forms of art. Watercolor is a calming experience for the students. It is a way for them to practice focus, mindfulness, and patience. They preserve when their art is "not perfect". They learn to quiet their minds.
It is just as important for students to experience beauty and joy in school as it is for them to learn to read and write.
In today's busy world it is important for students to experience soothing activities like art. All students even in public schools deserve to experience the healing of Waldorf Education.
