Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have about 125-130 students at MFHS. We are about to start independent reading and they are ecstatic about it. They want more modern books that are not as old and falling apart.
My students love anything fiction or nonfiction!
They absolutely love mystery books too. They have great minds!
They are ready to dive into the deeper meaning behind different literature pieces and determine what the important aspects are. They show great enthusiasm and want to push towards their graduation. They are excited to hopefully be able to start the independent reading process when these books get funded.
My Project
Most of our students come from low income families. They don't always have the supplies they need and this project will help me keep the supplies fully stocked in my room for a long time!
I currently supply them with pencils, erasers, markers and etc daily.
However, these supplies can disappear fast when a majority of students don't have the proper supplies in hand. I would love for this project to help me stock up my supply closet and allow me to give more to my students. They also complain that the only markers I have are the super skinny ones... so super excited for the larger markers!
