Ms. Loeb from Detroit MI is requesting classroom basics through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need the basics paper, pencils, pens, and a few extra sweet details to make the space welcoming!

Students are our future!
Students will develop grit that allows them to be resilient in difficult times in my classroom, other classrooms, and their everyday experiences.
Grit is a state of being in which challenges don’t feel impossible, but rather, are seen as goals to work towards and grow as a result from. Grit will allow students of all ability levels to be successful because this state of mind encourages students. I will meet students where they are at, but will ask them to rise to high expectations no matter where they are beginning from. This sets students up as leaders in their own classrooms because they feel empowered to be successful through diligence, patience within themselves, and a willingness to improve. Grit as a theme will look like finding the inspiration within to work through vigorous assignments, leveraging strength to participate even when there is uncertainty or a lack of clarity around a “perfect” answer. Finding the wisdom within to tap into is critical, and this is a message I will highlight on day one.
I chose to supply my class with basic necessities (pens, pencils, paper) so that my students can be successful. I also added a few extra special elements such as posters and "Shout-Out" notecards so that our space is welcoming. These materials will allow my students to be successful at a material level, but also at a higher socio-political level so that their learning is dynamic and transferrable out of the four walls of our classroom. Your contribution will empower my students to participate without barriers- particularly financial- so that they can concentrate on their learning without worry or stress. Thank you!
