Help me give my students Spanish language novels to maintain and develop their literacy in their first language.

As a teacher in a very diverse, low-income, school district, I see that my students have to face several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite these challenges, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are very hands-on, creative, and they love reading.
We serve a very diverse population. It is inspiring to see them growing and learning in the same community. My students are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners. They are mini-inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet. They are budding ambassadors, world travelers, scientists, entrepreneurs, teachers. They are our future, and I want to give them a great start to their long, successful careers.
While they perfect their English, my Spanish-speaking students are working extremely hard to maintain their first language.
Studies show that literacy in a child's first language improves literacy in a second language.
This means that if my students can improve their reading in Spanish, it will help their English reading skills too. Not only that, but it will reinforce the fact that their first language is still important and must be maintained.
By donating to this project, you will help purchase books for the library I am creating in my classroom. I would love to have literature circles with my students about these novels since I believe it will help them accept and love their identity.
