My Students

My students here run the gamut from English Language Learners freshmen to Ivy League-bound seniors. What all my students have in common is that they all have stories worth sharing. What I want them to know is that they are important, powerful, and worthy of investment.

My students can move mountains.

They just need the tools to get there.

Above all my students are kind, compassionate, and curious. They are capable of amazing things when they are given the tools.

My Project

The goal is to get diverse voices into my classroom. We live in a fairly homogenous community, and the students need more exposure to other ways of life. My students need to see themselves in literature, but they also need to see experiences outside their own world.

I want them to share their voices, but through exposure to diverse literature, I want them to hear the voices of others.

These stories will help that happen. These stories will help them explore the world, view it from other people's perspectives, and encourage them to be curious about lives around the world.
