Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember the first time you ever really enjoyed school? Well, I do and it was during a science research project I did in elementary school! I want to make sure that my kids have access to great learning tools that will help engage them in growing their own brains.
My students are an amazing bunch of first graders!
They are all at different levels and are all working hard to someday graduate from college. The faculty at my school work to have 100% of their scholars get into college. I plan to not only have my scholars get in but to be able to succeed once they are there! Currently 96% of scholars at our school are on free or reduced lunch. These kids deserve to have the same opportunities in enhancing their education as kids from other regions around the world.
My Project
Having these supplies could change their educational trajectory! One of my students top goals is to grow their brains to become the best readers they can be! Having more books will be great for read aloud time and reading workshop. Also science books are great for science content based read alouds, which lead into their weekly science lessons! Right now we are working on our weather unit and having more science supplies would be great for hands-on lessons for my students!
This project will help my student's grow their brains so much by providing them with the supplies to enhance their literacy and science skills!
My students have been going through the books I have in my library so quickly and through my science materials! They will be so excited to have more supplies to aid in their learning.
